Wardogs 1.0 and console release: Dec 2028Not announced: our best guess from Bulkhead's plan to bring Wardogs to PlayStation 5 and Xbox, with 1.0, in 2028.
Best guessBulkhead's launch trailer says Wardogs is "COMING TO CONSOLES IN 2028", and CEO Joe Brammer calls the goal "the 1.0 launch on console", but no date is announced, so we count to the end of 2028, the last day the announced year allows. Bulkhead on Steam

Pre-Load Live and the Season 1 changelog (Sep 9, 2026)

The day before launch, Bulkhead opened the 41.7 GB pre-load and posted the changes since the betas. The biggest was the XP curve: levels 10 to 20 were slowed and the curve flattened from 35, so the median player at 20 to 25 hours would reach about level 20 and "the top 5%, will need to grind" for the big-ticket items. Unlock costs moved (the Artillery Tank from $400,000 to $500,000, the Little Bird with miniguns from $25,000 to $50,000) and so did vendor prices (the Forward Operating Base from $2,500 to $7,500). The Artillery Tank moved from Career level 55 to 90 and the Heavy Tank to Driver level 35.

The same notes added a report tracking system that gives repeat and bad-faith reporters less weight, fixed voice chat cutting out after a failed join, and let DLSS Frame Generation be turned off without a restart (Bulkhead). They also closed an exploit that reached an unintended spot on a church roof. See Progression and Unlocks.

Launch Stability Hotfix #1 (Sep 10, 2026)

At 20:20 UTC on launch day, Bulkhead forced every logged-in player to restart, download a client update and rejoin the login queue, then let players back in controlled batches. It targeted failed server joins, unexpected kicks and long login queues. PCGamesN reported that at one point 45,590 players were in the game and 168,000 waiting, with only about 10 of the intended 100 players a second getting through; the fix gave each player a fresh login ticket at the front of the queue, and staff let players in by 10,000 at a time. More on Crashes and Errors. The clip is Bulkhead's Launch Day Recap explaining the expiring queue tickets and the hotfix.

Patch 0.11 (posted Sep 12, deployed Sep 14, 2026)

Servers went down for about an hour at 08:00 UTC on Monday, Sep 14 for Patch 0.11, a server browser update. It split the browser into Community and Official, improved Community filtering and text search, and gave community servers permanent IDs. Bulkhead admitted community servers "have been underserved" and gave them a 5% end-of-match cash bonus for a week. The patch also fixed "various cash exploits" and more GPU crashes and added server capacity in Asia; it changed no weapon or vehicle stats.

The same post set the economy abuse rules: exploiters get timed bans with cash and XP reset to 0, sharing exploit tutorials means a permanent ban, and so does staying on an XP farming server "for more than a few minutes", because "We track every server you enter" (Bulkhead). See Servers and Matchmaking and Anti-Cheat and Bans.

Steam Family Sharing turned off (Sep 18, 2026)

On Friday, Sep 18, Bulkhead turned off Steam Family Sharing, because "A number of accounts were exploiting Steam Family Sharing to bypass bans", PCGamesN reported. Brammer added on X that "The $40 price tag is the best anti-cheat."

Update 0.1.2 (Sep 30, 2026)

Update 0.1.2, a minor patch after about an hour of maintenance from 08:00 UTC, fixed the WD-L020 crash caused by Windows 11 update KB5124010. It made revive checks fully server-authoritative, capped vehicle fly-through rewards, scaled rewards for destroying buildables by how far they were built, and cut pay for pallets left in a FOB outside the zone. Exploiters and real-money traders had already had cash and progression reset, and Bulkhead wrote "That leniency is now over".

The update also brought the new Deploy flow: choose Official, Community, Infantry Mode or Low-Level servers, with advanced filters back on Official, the queue position shown, and gamepad support on the screen (Bulkhead). Grenades, smoke and C4 can no longer be thrown from enclosed vehicle seats, and a Havoc bug that raised damage from 20mm and 30mm cannons was fixed. Community admins got daily scheduled restarts and RCON controls.

Security and Stability Hotfix (Oct 2, 2026)

A hotfix at 08:00 UTC on Friday, Oct 2 fixed minor security and stability issues, with about an hour of downtime.

IR Goggles and CIWS Balance Hotfix (Oct 2, 2026)

Later the same day, a server-side hotfix with no download disabled IR Rangefinders in the vendor until Season 2, where they would need batteries, as Bulkhead agreed they were "too overpowered" (Bulkhead). It also made the Vanguard CIWS destroy a Havoc in about 6 seconds instead of 12, undoing an overcorrection. See Medical and Recon Equipment and Helicopters.

Season 2 preview (Oct 9, 2026)

Bulkhead's Season 02 Preview devlog, "Road to Season 2", introduced the experimental Wager Vendor, which lets players bet their own cash on objectives they pick. It was not a patch; the season itself had been teased with its date on Sep 22. The clip is Bulkhead's press conference of the same day going through the preview, the Wager Vendor included.

Update 0.2.0: Season 2 (Oct 15, 2026)

Bulkhead posted the Season 2 patch notes on Oct 14, and servers were down on Oct 15 from 08:00 to 09:30 UTC before Season 2 went live. The update wiped progression and added the TCX-SPR, PP-19 Bizon, Evo-3 Ultra and M14, the Wolf-110 (plain and with an M2 Browning), the T-72B3 tank, the Flakpanzer Gepard, the MG Nest, Large Shelter and Wooden Step, the Molotov, rain, and the Gold Market (Wardog level 35, $150,000).

It cut caliber damage (.308 Winchester by 25%, 7.62x54mmR by 20%, 7.62x39mm by 19%, .50 Cal by 16%), lowered Level 3 armor's damage reduction from 55% to 50% and Level 4's from 65% to 60%, rebuilt suppression, rebuilt Bakurani's three team spawns, roughly halved the XP for role level 20 (250,000 to 111,500), and changed dozens of prices: the Havoc from $18,000 to $28,000, the AK74 from $1,600 to $800 (Bulkhead). It also added the Faction Balance Experiment for Lonestar, team-switch limits, a team-kill Punish or Forgive vote and region-based ping limits. Everything is on Season 2.

Season 2 backend hotfix (Oct 15 to 16, 2026)

Within a day Bulkhead ended the Lonestar bonus, 5% cash and 2.5% XP, because grinders crowded onto the blue team; the Bakurani spawn changes stayed (PC Gamer). It also patched a Driver exploit (drive just outside HQ, drop pallets, return) that unlocked tanks on day one, slowed Driver progression, and gave fewer than 1,000 heavy abusers a 24-hour ban and a cash and XP wipe. Brammer's video on it is the one PCGamesN headlined "We f***ed up". See Factions and Driver. In the clip Bulkhead's designers put the players who used the exploit at fewer than 400.

Season 2 progression statement (Oct 17, 2026)

No patch, but a change of plan: Bulkhead posted on X that speeding up Season 2 progression "was the wrong call", ruled out a "knee-jerk reset this weekend" and said Season 3 would come "significantly" earlier (PCGamesN). See Seasons and Wipes.

The 175 ms ping cap (Oct 21, 2026)

On Oct 21 Bulkhead's X account said it had "begun the process of controlling regions" and would lower the maximum ping on a server to 175, to protect players "from an influx of regions that are more prone to cheating" (Wardogs on X). GameRiv noted the statement names no regions and gives no cheating figures, and that region locking is still being built (GameRiv). GameWatcher reported that some official servers had allowed up to 250 ms before, that Brammer called the measure not final, and that players in Asia and friends in different countries complained (GameWatcher). Oct 22 was the worst day yet for Steam reviews (Reception and Reviews).
