Crashes and Errors
Most Wardogs launch errors (the WD-L0 codes such as WD-L014) are fixed for some players by repairing the Elytra anti-cheat from the game's folder; WD-L020 was a Windows 11 update clash fixed in update 0.1.2 on Sep 30, 2026; errors 1147405308 and 1413677057 point to the servers. Official help is Team17 support at support.team17.com.
Most Wardogs launch errors, the "WD-L0" codes such as WD-L014, can be fixed for some players by repairing the Elytra anti-cheat: in your Steam Library choose Manage, then Browse local files, open the Elytra folder, run Elytra-Setup and pick Repair (GamesRadar+, Sep 17, 2026). WD-L020 was a clash with the Windows 11 update KB5124010 that Bulkhead fixed in update 0.1.2 on Sep 30, 2026 (Bulkhead, Sep 30, 2026). The two long number codes, 1147405308 and 1413677057, usually mean the servers or your connection, not your PC. Official help for Wardogs comes from Team17's support portal, support.team17.com (Steam, read Oct 26, 2026). This page lists each error, the queues and outages so far, and the bugs Bulkhead has fixed.

GamesRadar+ says error 1413677057 has no clear fix; Dexerto links it to server trouble and suggests a full restart of the PC, ending the Wardogs task in Task Manager, and checking whether the servers are down before trying again (Dexerto, read Oct 26, 2026). Error 1147405308 is a failed login to the online services, which also points to the servers or your connection (GamesRadar+, Sep 17, 2026).
"Kicked from match" in the middle of play was a bug the developers were looking into in mid-September (GamesRadar+, Sep 17, 2026). A separate "kicked from server" message appears only when an account has really been banned, since the launch changelog (Bulkhead, Sep 9, 2026). Since Season 2 you can also be kicked for high ping on official servers; see Servers and Matchmaking.
Wardogs not launching or crashing
Work through these in order. They are GamesRadar+'s general fixes, with the Elytra repair first because it is specific to Wardogs (GamesRadar+, Sep 17, 2026):
- Repair Elytra: Steam Library, right-click Wardogs, Manage, Browse local files, Elytra folder, run Elytra-Setup, choose Repair.
- Update the game and restart Steam and your PC.
- Verify the game files: Properties, Installed Files, Verify integrity of game files.
- Run the game as administrator.
- Delete old beta builds. The betas were a separate Steam app, "WARDOGS Playtest" (app 4809930), which can be uninstalled (Steam, read Oct 26, 2026).
- Check your connection and whether the servers are down (Bulkhead posts maintenance on its Steam news page and X account).
If the game crashes rather than refusing to start, check that your PC meets the specs on PC Requirements and Performance and lower the settings on Best Settings. Wardogs does not run on Steam Deck or Linux: the Elytra anti-cheat stops it under Proton, so no fix applies there (TheGamer, Sep 10, 2026).
Crash fixes Bulkhead has shipped
Bulkhead's launch changelog fixed two frame generation crash paths and crashes involving buildables, chatbox tooltips, off-thread network calls and firing a weapon whose owner had left the server; it also made startup failures show clearer messages with "a route to recovery" (Bulkhead, Sep 9, 2026). Patch 0.11, deployed on Sep 14, 2026, addressed more GPU crashes and added detail to GPU crash reports (Bulkhead, Sep 12, 2026). Update 0.1.2 fixed WD-L020 on Sep 30, and a Security and Stability Hotfix followed on Oct 2, 2026 (Bulkhead, Oct 2, 2026). Every patch is on Patches and Updates. In the clip, from its August beta recap, Bulkhead calls the crashes 3% of beta players hit, with VoIP issues, its number one priority.
Launch queues and outages
Wardogs launched in Steam Early Access on Sep 10, 2026 at 16:00 UTC, and the servers buckled. At one point 45,590 players were in the game with 168,000 waiting, because only about 10 players a second were getting through instead of the 100 the system was built for (PCGamesN, Sep 12, 2026). Players reported queues from 40 minutes to several hours (TheGamer, Sep 10, 2026), and Bulkhead took the servers offline to fix "an issue that wasn't present in the previous beta" (PC Gamer, Sep 10, 2026). The clip is Bulkhead's launch-day recap, with about 46,000 players in and 117,000 queued at that moment.
Bulkhead CEO Joe Brammer said the queues were partly from being "rate-limited by Valve" and advised: "I wouldn't leave the queue, I'd just stay in" (PC Gamer, Sep 10, 2026). Launch Stability Hotfix #1 at 20:20 UTC that day forced every player to restart and update, sent everyone back to the login queue and let players in "in controlled batches"; it targeted failed joins, unexpected kicks and long login queues (Bulkhead, Sep 10, 2026). Staff then admitted players by hand, 10,000 at a time, until the queue was empty (PCGamesN, Sep 12, 2026). The full story is on Release History.
Joining a full server can still mean a wait: update 0.1.2 shows that you are connecting after you click Join, and then your place in any queue (Bulkhead, Sep 30, 2026). Brammer wrote on Sep 26, 2026 that the team had spent its time "fighting bottom-feeder cheaters and constant DDOS attacks" (GamesRadar+, Sep 28, 2026).
| Date | Outage | Length |
|---|---|---|
| Sep 10, 2026 | Launch queues; servers taken offline; Hotfix #1 at 20:20 UTC | Hours |
| Sep 14, 2026 | Maintenance for Patch 0.11, 08:00 UTC | About 1 hour |
| Sep 30, 2026 | Maintenance for update 0.1.2, 08:00 UTC | About 1 hour |
| Oct 2, 2026 | Security and Stability Hotfix, 08:00 UTC | About 1 hour |

Voice chat and parachute bugs
If your microphone stops working, the developers have said a third-party VOIP outage was the cause and that "Toggling Voice Chat off and on in settings should fix it" (Dexerto, read Oct 26, 2026). The launch changelog also fixed voice cutting out for good after a failed server join and added a visible communication status (Bulkhead, Sep 9, 2026). More is on Voice Chat.
In the launch period a bug could unbind the parachute key (Space by default); GameSpot's fix was to rebind it in the game's GameUserSettings.ini file (GameSpot, Sep 11, 2026). Since Season 2 a parachute that seems broken may simply be too low: chutes open more slowly, will not open below about 10 m, and opening below about 50 m while falling fast means fall damage (Bulkhead, Oct 14, 2026). See Spawning and Redeploying.
Where to get support
Wardogs' official support is Team17's portal, support.team17.com; the Steam store's support link is team17.com/support, where Wardogs has its own tile (Team17, read Oct 26, 2026). Team17 also runs a Discord. To report a cheater on an official server, use the in-game report function; Bulkhead weights reports so that repeat and bad-faith reporters count for less (Bulkhead, Sep 9, 2026). Wrong bans have happened: a moderator banned streamer Summit1g by mistake at launch, and the ban was reversed (Dexerto, Sep 12, 2026). In the clip Bulkhead asks players to flag cheaters with the report function, which it calls intelligent.
Frequently asked questions

Anti-Cheat and BansWardogs uses the kernel-level anti-cheat Elytra, per its Steam store page; the betas used Easy Anti-Cheat, and the switch is why Wardogs does not run on Linux or Steam Deck. Bulkhead bans cheaters and exploiters (cash and XP reset to 0, timed or permanent bans), turned off Steam Family Sharing on Sep 18, 2026 to stop ban evasion, and capped official servers at 175 ms ping on Oct 21.
-
Servers and MatchmakingWardogs has no matchmaking button: you pick a match from a server browser, through the Deploy screen's Official, Community, Infantry Mode and Low-Level choices. Official servers have kicked high-ping players since Season 2, with a 175 ms maximum since Oct 21, 2026, and limited servers are planned.
-
PC Requirements and PerformanceWardogs needs at least 64-bit Windows 10, an Intel Core i5 8600 or AMD Ryzen 5 3500, 16 GB of RAM, an Nvidia GTX 1660 or Radeon RX 590 and 50 GB of storage for 1080p Low at 60 fps upscaled. The recommended spec (Core i7 12700k or Ryzen 7 5700x, RTX 3070 or RX 6700 XT) targets 1440p Medium at 70 fps. Windows only; Steam Deck and Linux are unsupported.
-
Best SettingsThe guides agree on the core of a Wardogs setup for frame rate and visibility: Motion Blur, Depth of Field, Lens Flare and Bloom off, shadows and reflections at their lowest, view distance kept high, Nvidia Reflex on and an upscaler (DLSS or FSR) for frames. They disagree on VSync and on Reflections (Potato or Low).

Patches and UpdatesThe latest Wardogs update is 0.2.0, Season 2, live since Oct 15, 2026, followed by a backend hotfix that removed the Lonestar bonus on Oct 16 and a 175 ms ping cap from Oct 21. Before it came the Sep 9 Season 1 changelog, Launch Stability Hotfix #1 (Sep 10), Patch 0.11 (Sep 14), Update 0.1.2 (Sep 30) and two hotfixes on Oct 2.
