Seasons and Wipes

Wardogs wipes progression at the start of every season: each season has its own XP curve and item order, and Season 2 reset everyone to level 1 on Oct 15, 2026. Gold Bars, season-exclusive items and Twitch Drop rewards are kept, per Dexerto. Season 1 ran Sep 10 to Oct 15, Season 2 is expected to end with Season 3 on Nov 12, and later seasons are planned at about three months.

Yes, Wardogs wipes: every season starts progression over, because each season has "a different XP curve with different item orders" and its own progression, Bulkhead wrote before launch, and Season 2 reset everyone to level 1 on Oct 15, 2026 (PC Gamer). Cash, levels and role XP go; Gold Bars, items exclusive to a season and Twitch Drop rewards stay, per Dexerto. Seasons have so far been short: Season 1 ran five weeks, Season 2 will run four if Season 3 starts on Nov 12, 2026 as Bulkhead CEO Joe Brammer said, and Bulkhead now plans seasons of about three months.

How a season works

A season is one run of the progression system. Each has its own XP curve and its own order of unlocks on the seven tracks (the Wardog career track and the six roles), so an item can sit at a different level, or on a different track, from one season to the next (Bulkhead). Season 2 shows how much that can change: it cut the XP for role level 20 from 250,000 to 111,500, moved the SPH-2 artillery tank from Wardog level 90 to Driver level 31, and made the AK74 the Assault default. Brammer described the balance approach on Sep 29, 2026: "Sometimes in our game, we're going to be OK with something being a bit overpowered for a season and then underpowered next season, to keep it interesting" (PC Gamer). The current tracks are on Progression and Unlocks.

What a wipe resets

At a wipe, cash, levels and role XP reset, per Dexerto's guide. Inside a season, cash persists from match to match: it is the whole point of the Economy and Cash. The season's end is what clears it.

Bulkhead's notes do not state what balance a player starts the new season with. The store says every player starts Wardogs with $10,000; before Season 2, PCGamesN wrote that Season 2 "is also when your bank account goes back to zero" (PCGamesN). As of Oct 26, 2026, Bulkhead has not said which applies after a wipe.

What carries over

Dexerto lists three things that survive a wipe: Gold Bars, exclusive items earned in a season, and Twitch Drop rewards (Dexerto). Gold Bars are tied to the account permanently (Dexerto), and the Gold Market's Black & Gold Little Bird camo is marked a Season 2 exclusive. More on Gold Bars and the Gold Market.

XP is not entirely lost either. Bulkhead says XP earned in Early Access is being banked and will be applied retroactively to future long-term systems such as player skills (Insider Gaming). Those skills are planned and would persist across seasons (PC Gamer); they are not in the game as of Oct 26, 2026 (Early Access and Roadmap).

Cash at the end of a season

Leftover cash is not simply deleted: Insider Gaming reported that savings convert to Gold Bars automatically "based on their value at the end of the season" (Insider Gaming). Dexerto says the Gold exchange rate changes daily and gives no figures (Dexerto). Bulkhead has said since February that cash can be exchanged for Gold Bars, the currency for cosmetics (Bulkhead). Bulkhead pledged never to sell cash or Gold Bars (Bulkhead).

Why Season 1 was short

Season 1 lasted about a month on purpose. Insider Gaming reported "season 1 is a month" in September, with later lengths undecided (Insider Gaming). Brammer said Season 1 was "short deliberately because we knew these endgame balancing issues existed", adding: "imagine if we had a three-month-long season, with our game three weeks in" (PC Gamer). In the same talk he said "the endgame is a bit sh*t". Bulkhead had designed Season 1's curve so that median players at 20 to 25 hours would reach about level 20, and the top 5% "will need to grind" for the big-ticket items (Bulkhead).

Why Season 2 is short

Season 2's wipe did not hold. Bulkhead sped up progression, and some players reached tier 4 armor and main battle tanks within days, so "the wipe never really landed"; on Oct 17, 2026 it called the speed-up "the wrong call" and said Season 3 would come "significantly" earlier (PCGamesN). Brammer then put Season 3 at Nov 12, "to give everyone a proper fresh start" (Shacknews), with a fresh economy reset (PCGamesN).

How long seasons will last

From Season 3 on, seasons should be longer. "We've got to slow down. We can't do monthly seasons. We can't keep up," Brammer told PCGamesN on Oct 25, 2026: the plan is about three months per season with a smaller mid-season update halfway through (PCGamesN). Bulkhead also wants less of Season 1's "heavy vertical progression", where the best items sat at the end of each track.
