Wardogs 1.0 and console release: Dec 2028Not announced: our best guess from Bulkhead's plan to bring Wardogs to PlayStation 5 and Xbox, with 1.0, in 2028.
Best guessBulkhead's launch trailer says Wardogs is "COMING TO CONSOLES IN 2028", and CEO Joe Brammer calls the goal "the 1.0 launch on console", but no date is announced, so we count to the end of 2028, the last day the announced year allows. Bulkhead on Steam

Weapons

Wardogs has 38 weapons in Season 2 by Dexerto's count: 9 assault rifles, 5 submachine guns, 2 shotguns, 3 light machine guns, 4 marksman rifles, 5 sniper rifles, 5 pistols, 4 launchers and a compound bow. You buy them with in-game cash every life after unlocking them once on a role track, and Season 2 (Oct 15, 2026) added the TCX-SPR, PP-19 Bizon, Evo-3 Ultra and M14.

Wardogs has 38 weapons as of Season 2, by the count in Dexerto's Wardogs weapon database: 9 assault rifles, 5 submachine guns, 2 shotguns, 3 light machine guns, 4 marksman rifles, 5 sniper rifles, 5 pistols, 4 launchers and one bow. Every gun is bought with in-game cash at the vendor each life, after a one-time cash unlock on the role track that owns it, and Bulkhead's Season 2 patch notes (live Oct 15, 2026) added four of them: the TCX-SPR, PP-19 Bizon, Evo-3 Ultra and M14. This page lists them all with their price, caliber and unlock; each class has a page of its own with stats, and which ones to buy is on Best Weapons and Best Loadouts. The clip is Bulkhead's Season 2 press conference, where the team lists four new weapons and the Molotov.

Sources: Bulkhead's Season 2 patch notes for every Season 2 price and unlock change; Dexerto's weapon pages and its Assault, Medic, Recon, Support and Wardog track pages for the rest. Where the two differ, Bulkhead's notes win.

The class pages carry each gun's fire rate, range, damage and patch history: Assault Rifles, Submachine Guns and Shotguns, Light Machine Guns and Pistols, Sniper and Marksman Rifles and Launchers and Explosives (which also covers grenades, mines and C4).

How buying and unlocking works

Every player starts with $10,000 and buys a loadout every life, and cash carries over from match to match within a season (Economy and Cash). A weapon has two costs. The unlock is paid once, when you reach the level on the track that owns it: the M4, for example, opens at Assault level 28 for $150,000 in Season 2. The price is paid at the vendor each time you buy it, so a $2,800 M4 lost on death has to be bought again. The track levels themselves come from using that role's gear (Progression and Unlocks).

Your own faction's starter rifle (the A-91 for Valkyra, the Bushmaster M17S for Lonestar, the KH-2002 for Manticore) costs nothing and takes no attachments, as Dexerto's A-91 page shows. In Season 2 the AK74 and the PP-19 Bizon are also unlocked by default, while the T-21 and the AMP-9, free in Season 1, now need an unlock.

Loadouts are not saved as presets. Season 2 reworked the Rebuy Last Loadout button, which fills the vendor with your last kit so you can add or remove items before paying. Bulkhead CEO Joe Brammer has confirmed that custom loadouts are coming, bought "with in game cash through the meta game", but as of Oct 26, 2026 they are planned, not in the game (Early Access and Roadmap).

Carry is limited by slots: PC Gamer notes that one "specialist" slot holds a defibrillator, an RPG or binoculars, with more specialist tools in free backpack space (Armor and Gear). Any dead body can be looted for all its gear, which is the cheapest way to try a gun you have not unlocked. The clip is Josephant's tip on carrying binoculars in the backpack beside another specialist item.

A team at least 40 points behind second place gets a 20% vendor discount since Season 2.

Calibers and ammunition

Each caliber comes in three kinds: Standard (FMJ), Armor Piercing (AP) and Flesh Damage (HP), each also as a tracer, as Dexerto's M4 page lists them. Dexerto shows the same base damage for every type, so they differ by armor and flesh modifiers it does not publish. The better rounds unlock on the Wardog track: in Season 2, 5.45x39mm HP at level 6, 9x19mm HP at 10, 5.56mm HP at 13, 7.62x39mm AP at 60, .308 Win HP at 63, 5.56mm AP at 84 and 5.45x39mm AP at 90, with the 12 gauge Rifled Slug at 36. In the clip Bulkhead's team describes hollow points doing single-digit damage into Level 3 and 4 armor.

Loose ammo comes in stacks of 100 that take two inventory slots, and pressing C in the inventory refills empty magazines from it, which PC Gamer says is cheaper than buying five magazines. PC Gamer's minimum before leaving spawn is two extra magazines, 3 to 5 bandages, a dot sight and a class gadget. The clip is LevelCapGaming's advice: two to three magazines, stacks of loose ammo, and C to repack.

Season 2 cut base damage per caliber for every infantry and vehicle weapon that fires it: .308 Winchester by 25%, 7.62x54mmR by 20%, 7.62x39mm by 19% and .50 Cal by 16%. Bulkhead's reason was that high-caliber rounds in assault rifles, DMRs and LMGs "were doing close to sniper damage at a much faster fire rate." The clip is TheTacticalBrit's preview from before the patch notes, so it gives no percentages.

What changed by patch

Season 1 changelog (Sep 9, 2026). The pre-load changelog moved the Deagle from Wardog level 90 to 85 and set the launch ammo unlocks; it changed no gun's damage.

Update 0.1.2 (Sep 30, 2026). Grenades, smoke and C4 could no longer be thrown from enclosed vehicle seats.

Season 2 (Oct 15, 2026). The biggest weapon pass so far, per Bulkhead's notes:

  • Four new guns (TCX-SPR, PP-19 Bizon, Evo-3 Ultra, M14) and the Molotov Cocktail.
  • The caliber cuts above; LMG body damage made equal to assault rifles; assault rifle body shots slightly weaker; DMR head and upper-body hits weaker; sniper rifle hit-location damage raised.
  • Slugs and the Compound Bow now scale their damage against armor with its tier.
  • MP5 recoil made more horizontal; Super-45 falloff beyond 50 m increased; MGL-40 muzzle velocity cut 25%.
  • Price rises (T-21 $600 to $1,200, Super-45 $2,600 to $5,600, AMR 50 $8,800 to $14,800, MGL-40 $6,000 to $7,500 and more) and cuts (AK74 $1,600 to $800, FAL $6,500 to $6,000, PKM $4,500 to $4,100, RPG-7 $2,000 to $1,800).
  • Unlocks moved: the M4 from Assault 20 to 28, the PKM from Support 30 to 15, the MP5 from Medic 15 to 4, the BMR-308 from Recon 30 to 20, the Judge and GGX 17 swapped places on the Wardog track.
  • Suppression rebuilt so near misses from small and medium calibers suppress more.

Brammer described the approach in September: "Sometimes in our game, we're going to be OK with something being a bit overpowered for a season and then underpowered next season, to keep it interesting." The full patch list is on Patches and Updates and Season 2.

What comes next

Bulkhead's store page promises more weapons and "expanded weapon categories" for the full version, and Brammer has described a planned "intel" resource to unlock gun parts beyond today's grips, scopes and muzzles (PC Gamer, Sep 29, 2026). Season 3, which Brammer has said starts Nov 12, 2026 (not yet in a Bulkhead news post as of Oct 26), is to bring limited servers that remove power weapons and vehicles, per PCGamesN. None of these is in the game yet. Attachments are on Attachments. In the clip, from Oct 9, the team says only that it is considering letting community servers turn off power weapons.
