Tanks and Artillery

Wardogs has four tracked combat vehicles in Season 2, all on the Driver track: the T-72B3 tank ($16,000, Driver 20), the L2A6 heavy tank ($22,000, Driver 35), the Flakpanzer Gepard anti-air tank ($14,000, Driver 25) and the SPH-2 artillery tank ($8,000, Driver 31). Artillery is aimed by compass bearing and range from the map.

Wardogs has four tracked combat vehicles in Season 2, and all of them unlock on the Driver track: the T-72B3 main battle tank, the L2A6 heavy tank, the Flakpanzer Gepard anti-air tank and the SPH-2 artillery tank, per Bulkhead's Season 2 patch notes and Dexerto's vehicle database. They are the most expensive ground vehicles, from $8,000 to $22,000 a life, and the hardest to reach: the cheapest unlock is the T-72B3's $250,000 at Driver level 20. The T-72B3 and the Gepard arrived with Season 2 on Oct 15, 2026; the L2A6 and the SPH-2 have been in the game since the Sep 10 Early Access launch. Every other vehicle is on Vehicles. The clip is Bulkhead's developer podcast on the new tank turning up at level 20 on Season 2's first day.

L2A6

The L2A6 is Wardogs' heavy tank and the last unlock on the Driver track: Driver level 35 for $500,000, then $22,000 a life since Season 2 (it was $14,000), per Bulkhead's notes. It carries three crew, an L55A1 main gun, an MG3A1 coaxial gun and an M249, and holds 110 liters of fuel at 8 liters per kilometer. KeenGamer gave it 800 HP and a smoke launcher on a 90-second cooldown in Patch 0.11 (Sep 14, 2026). It began as a Career unlock and moved to Driver 35 for launch in the Season 1 changelog. Destructoid named it the vehicle for contesting the Hot Zone; Hot Zone and Towers explains why holding that spot matters. The clip is jackfrags' closed beta footage from the tank's turret.

T-72B3

The T-72B3 is the main battle tank added in Season 2, which Bulkhead describes as "slower than the L2A6, but cheaper and slightly more fuel-efficient". It costs $16,000 and unlocks 15 Driver levels earlier, at level 20 for $250,000. Dexerto lists a 2A46M-5 cannon, a PKTM coaxial gun and an M2 Browning, 60 km/h and 8.5 liters per kilometer. Bulkhead's Oct 9 preview had called it "far more fuel-efficient" than the L2A6 it named the Leopard; the final notes say "slightly", which Dexerto's figures bear out (Season 2 preview).

Flakpanzer Gepard

The Flakpanzer Gepard is the only anti-air vehicle in Wardogs, also new in Season 2: two seats, twin 35mm Oerlikon GDF cannons, an MG3A1 and an M249, $14,000 a life and an unlock at Driver 25 for $300,000 (Season 2 notes). It drinks the most fuel of the four, 10 liters per kilometer in Dexerto's figures. It is the mobile answer to the attack helicopters on Helicopters; the fixed anti-air answers, the Talon 9K-SAM missile station and the Vanguard CIWS gun, are built at an FOB (Building and Fortifications), and Support players can carry the $800 9K333 Verba missile (Launchers and Explosives).

SPH-2 artillery tank

The SPH-2 is "a heavily armored artillery tank capable of delivering long range devastation," in Dexerto's description, with three seats, an L52 155mm cannon, an MG3A1 coaxial gun and an M249, at $8,000 a life. The Steam store pitches it as the chance to "man an artillery tank and rain down destruction on the enemy". Its unlock has moved more than any other: Career level 55 for $400,000 before launch, Career 90 for $500,000 at launch (Season 1 changelog), and Driver 31 for $350,000 since Season 2 (Season 2 notes). KeenGamer put it at 650 HP and rated it C tier in Season 1 only because Career 90 was so hard to reach. Since Season 2, artillery earns Driver XP instead of Support XP.

How to aim artillery

Game Rant's guide to aiming mortars and artillery (Marc Santos, Sep 15, 2026) says the same method works for the L81 Mortar emplacement and the SPH-2, which simply fires much farther:

  1. Open the map, where you will spend most of your time, and ping the target with the middle mouse button.
  2. Turn the gun toward the target using the compass at the top of the screen.
  3. Set the range by moving the mouse up or down or with W and S, reading a rough distance from the map's range markings.
  4. Fire, watch where the shell lands from the shell camera, and adjust.

If a Recon player has spotted the target, hovering over the mark on the map shows its exact distance, which Game Rant calls the easy way; Recon players and binoculars make artillery far more accurate. Without a spot, Game Rant measures it by hand: right-click your position and the target for their coordinates, multiply each difference by 100 (the map's scale is 100 m per unit) and take the straight-line distance. Its example put a truck about 406 m away. Pressing C cancels the shell camera early, so you can fire again as soon as the reload finishes, and stepping the range up or down between shots blankets an area, which Game Rant recommends against enemy mortar crews. PCGamesN's mortar guide (Sep 11, 2026) describes the same heading-and-range sight, with no map overlay and the camera following the shell.

Countering tanks

Tanks are heavily armored, so infantry needs explosives. The anti-tank tools, with Season 2 prices from Bulkhead's notes and Dexerto:

Weapon Price Unlock Use against armor
RPG-7 $1,800 Support 6, $30,000 93mm rocket, 300 m effective range
MAAWS $2,400 Support 18, $100,000 84mm anti-tank rocket, 400 m
AT Mine $650 Support 25, $75,000 Set off by vehicles only
C4 Charge $250 each, plus a $650 Remote Detonator Assault 4 Sticks to anything
Stingray 650 build supplies Built at an FOB Explosive anti-armor drone
Hedgehog 22 build supplies Small Hammer Blocks or channels vehicles

Sources: Dexerto's RPG-7, MAAWS, AT Mine, C4, Stingray and Hedgehog pages; Bulkhead's Season 2 notes.

Killing a tank pays well: $11,000 for an L2A6 and $8,000 for a T-72B3 or SPH-2 in Season 2, and Dexerto's L2A6 page adds +150% inside the Control Zone and +200% in the Hot Zone. Artillery is countered by finding it: a spotter's mark shows the SPH-2 to your own mortar crews, and Destruction covers what the shells do to buildings. Destructoid's Early Access impressions listed mortar spam and artillery among the things that need work (Sep 16, 2026).

Season 2 changes

  • New vehicles: the T-72B3 and the Flakpanzer Gepard (Season 2 notes).
  • Prices: the L2A6 rose from $14,000 to $22,000; its destroy reward fell from $14,000 to $11,000, and the SPH-2's from $14,000 to $8,000.
  • Handling: tracked vehicles are "weightier," less floaty in the air and less bouncy on landing, and tanks no longer launch themselves into the air from their own turret.
  • Turret guns: the top machine guns of the heavy and artillery tanks used the helicopter cannon's hit values against infantry until Season 2; they now use assault rifle and LMG values.
  • The tank exploit: a Driver XP exploit (fast pallet trips between a near and a far FOB) let players unlock tanks on the first day; Bulkhead fixed it, slowed Driver progression and gave fewer than 1,000 heavy abusers 24-hour bans, as Eurogamer and PCGamesN reported on Oct 16, 2026. More is on Season 2.

Bulkhead plans limited servers that remove level 4 armor, power weapons and vehicles such as tanks and artillery, PCGamesN reported on Oct 16; they are planned for Season 3, not in the game as of Oct 26, 2026.
