Wardogs 1.0 and console release: Dec 2028Not announced: our best guess from Bulkhead's plan to bring Wardogs to PlayStation 5 and Xbox, with 1.0, in 2028.
Best guessBulkhead's launch trailer says Wardogs is "COMING TO CONSOLES IN 2028", and CEO Joe Brammer calls the goal "the 1.0 launch on console", but no date is announced, so we count to the end of 2028, the last day the announced year allows. Bulkhead on Steam

Best Settings

The guides agree on the core of a Wardogs setup for frame rate and visibility: Motion Blur, Depth of Field, Lens Flare and Bloom off, shadows and reflections at their lowest, view distance kept high, Nvidia Reflex on and an upscaler (DLSS or FSR) for frames. They disagree on VSync and on Reflections (Potato or Low).

The best Wardogs settings for frame rate and visibility, as Dexerto, Destructoid and Game Rant recommend them, turn off Motion Blur, Depth of Field, Lens Flare and Bloom because they hide enemies, drop Shadows and Reflections to their lowest, keep View Distance high so distant players still draw, and lean on an upscaler such as DLSS or FSR for extra frames (Game Rant, Sep 11, 2026; Dexerto, Sep 4, 2026). Wardogs is PC only, built on Unreal Engine 5 with Bulkhead's War Dynamics Framework (Bulkhead, Feb 18, 2026), and its graphics menu runs from a preset called "Potato" to one called "Overkill" (Game Rant, Sep 11, 2026). The tables below say who recommends what; hardware is on PC Requirements and Performance and keys on Controls and Keybinds.

Display and frame rate

Start with the display tab, because a wrong frame cap or sync setting costs more than any single quality option. Dexerto plays in Windowed Fullscreen at your native resolution, with the frame limit at your monitor's refresh rate, VSync off and Nvidia Reflex on; it also caps the main menu at 60 FPS (Dexerto, Sep 4, 2026). Destructoid caps the game lower, at 90 FPS, and at 60 if you still see lag, and it leaves VSync on (Destructoid, Sep 10, 2026). The clip is Game Guides' closed beta test, which also picks Windowed Fullscreen at native resolution, VSync off and Nvidia Reflex on.

Setting Dexerto Destructoid
Display mode Windowed Fullscreen, native resolution
Frame rate limit Your refresh rate 90 (60 if lagging)
Main Menu FPS Limit 60
VSync Off On
Nvidia Reflex On
Brightness 105%
Sharpness 1.20

The VSync split is the usual trade: off gives the lowest input delay but can tear, on stops tearing at a small cost in delay. With a frame cap at or just under your refresh rate, most players can leave it off, as Dexerto does.

Graphics quality

Dexerto names Shadows, Reflections and Texture Streaming as the settings that cost the most frames, so those go lowest first (Dexerto, Sep 4, 2026). It keeps View Distance on High, which matters in a game where fights reach across a 2x2 km Control Zone and snipers shoot from far outside it (see Sniper Guide).

Setting Dexerto Destructoid
Mesh Detail Medium
View Distance High
Shading Low
Global Illumination Off
Shadows Low
Reflections Potato Low
Effects Medium
Particle Spawn Rate Low
Post-Processing Low
World and Character detail Medium
Texture Streaming Low
Texture Filtering Medium
Motion Blur, Depth of Field, Lens Flare, Bloom Off Off

Dexerto's guide was first published on Sep 4, 2026, during the second closed beta, so a few menu names may have moved since launch. One change Bulkhead made at launch matters here: on PCs with a high benchmark score, shadow quality is now clamped to Low instead of being switched off (Bulkhead, Sep 9, 2026). Shadows can still be set to Low by hand, but no longer vanish entirely. In the clip, from the closed beta, Game Guides explains that Shadows on Potato turned every shadow off.

Field of view and aiming

Destructoid sets the field of view to 95, the Weapon View Model Scale to 4, PIP Scope off and ADS FOV to Affected (Destructoid, Sep 10, 2026). For the mouse, Dexerto suggests starting around a sensitivity of 70 with an ADS Multiplier of 1.00, Mouse Acceleration 0.00, Sensitivity Scaling Mode Relative and Monitor Matching Distance 100% (Dexerto, read Oct 26, 2026).

Upscaling and frame generation

Wardogs supports Nvidia DLSS, including DLSS Frame Generation, which can be turned on and off without restarting the game since Bulkhead's launch changelog; that changelog also fixed two frame generation crash paths and cut shadow cache refreshes to reduce hitching (Bulkhead, Sep 9, 2026).

The guides use the upscaler differently. Dexerto runs DLSS in DLAA mode, which renders at native resolution and only smooths the image, and drops to Quality or Balanced if frames fall (Dexerto, Sep 4, 2026). Destructoid, testing on a Ryzen 7 5700X with a Radeon 9060 XT 16 GB and 32 GB of RAM, sets DLSS or FSR to favor performance (Destructoid, Sep 10, 2026). Start at Quality and step down only until your frame rate holds: lower modes blur distant players, which costs more than the frames are worth in a long-range shooter.

What the settings do to frame rate

Game Rant measured the presets on an RTX 5070 Ti with a Ryzen 7 7800X3D at 1080p: low-tier settings averaged about 205 FPS (229 at most), a mid-tier setup with DLSS about 190, and Overkill without DLSS about 110 (Game Rant, Sep 11, 2026). Its high-end pick, everything on High with DLSS Quality, averaged about 140 FPS with a 161 maximum on the same PC. At 4K, Game Rant says cards weaker than an RTX 5080 stay above 60 FPS but may lose their competitive edge. Those are one outlet's numbers on one fast machine; a mid-range PC will see far less, and Steam's own targets are on PC Requirements and Performance.

Audio settings

Sound decides fights in Wardogs, where proximity Voice Chat carries across all three teams and footsteps give players away. Dexerto's audio setup: Master 50, menu and in-game music 0, Radio Music 30, Effects 100, UI 100, VOIP Proximity and Squad 50 each, 3D Spatial Audio on and Tinnitus Audio off (Dexerto, read Oct 26, 2026).

Privacy and interface options

Streamers have two options worth knowing. Anonymous mode hides the server name on the loading screen, as Streamer mode does, since update 0.1.2 (Bulkhead, Sep 30, 2026), and the Supporter icon on the scoreboard can be hidden in settings (Bulkhead, Aug 11, 2026; see Price and Supporter Edition). Steam lists Camera Comfort and Custom Volume Controls among the game's accessibility features (Steam, read Oct 26, 2026), while Bulkhead CEO Joe Brammer said more accessibility features are "on the plans" (Insider Gaming, Sep 14, 2026).

Controller settings

Bulkhead's patch notes added gamepad features in Season 2, including an Aim Assist strength slider under Settings > Controller > Advanced (default 1, 0 turns it off), even though Steam's store data lists no controller support (Bulkhead, Oct 14, 2026). Dexerto's controller picks: horizontal sensitivity 2.5, vertical 1.8, ADS multiplier 0.35, Look Acceleration on (Linear, multiplier 1.6), response curve 2.0 and deadzones as low as your sticks allow (Dexerto, read Oct 26, 2026). Button layouts are on Controls and Keybinds.

Frequently asked questions

What are the best graphics settings for Wardogs? Guides recommend turning Motion Blur, Depth of Field, Lens Flare and Bloom off in Wardogs, setting Shadows, Reflections and Texture Streaming low, keeping View Distance high and using DLSS or FSR at Quality for extra frames.

How do I get more FPS in Wardogs? Lower Shadows, Reflections and Texture Streaming first, since Dexerto names them the costliest Wardogs settings, turn off PIP scopes, and use DLSS or FSR; Game Rant measured about 205 FPS on low settings against about 110 on Overkill on an RTX 5070 Ti.

Should VSync be on or off in Wardogs? The guides disagree: Dexerto turns VSync off in Wardogs and caps frames at your refresh rate with Nvidia Reflex on, while Destructoid leaves it on with a 90 FPS cap.

What FOV should I use in Wardogs? Destructoid recommends a field of view of 95 in Wardogs with ADS FOV set to Affected and PIP Scope off.

Does Wardogs have DLSS and frame generation? Yes. Wardogs supports Nvidia DLSS with Frame Generation, which can be switched on and off without a restart since Bulkhead's Sep 9, 2026 changelog, and guides also name AMD FSR.

What are the best audio settings in Wardogs? Dexerto sets Wardogs' Effects to 100, music to 0, both voice chat channels to 50, 3D Spatial Audio on and Tinnitus Audio off, so footsteps and gunfire stand out.
